Why the Wheat?

I am often asked why we have wheat as our logo.

Unfortunately, It's not because our CTO Eric Hendrickson loves to bake bread though the kid can bake some delicious bread.

When we started the company in 2003, my original business partner, Richard Scott, came up with the logo. Richard was a CIO candidate of mine, and we knew each other through our church. We knew that starting a business was a massive leap of faith. He opened up the bible and read Galatians 6:9 to align with our name Provisions Group (provide) 9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time, we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people.

The wheat is a sign of the harvest. Attached is a picture of Richard and I celebrating our first year in business!

Today Rich is the Executive Pastor at Fellowship Bible Church in Brentwood, TN. He has six kids, and he continues to be the incredible man who helped frame our firm's vision. I can still picture him walking up to the whiteboard and drawing in the logo. Sweet memories!

Our decision to use this as our charge still holds true today in a world that seems to have turned towards self. Serve others. Put others first. Do good to all people, and then we will be taken care of.

Thank you for helping us live out this mission.
