Introducing Scott Dickson — Our New Director of Recruiting

Provisions Group is proud to announce the promotion of Scott Dickson to Director of Recruiting, a role he will share with John Peitzman. Scott's dedication to recruiting, his talent for job placement, and his hard work has paid off with this new and exciting promotion. Let’s get to know Scott both in and out of the office!

Tell us about your first day at Provisions Group. Looking back, how did those early days lead you to where you are today?

My first day at Provisions Group included a game of Nerf Basketball, a game that was played daily. It was a game that allowed us to strengthen our bond, even though bonding sometimes included some “fits” from some of the moody recruiters. I won’t name any names! The early days of PG helped me recognize a genuine work bond and how that promotes each person to be a real teammate in the workplace. It took me some time to get used to that since that’s not a typical culture you find in the Staffing Industry. Being a team player and embracing the PG culture has aided me in where I am with PG today.

It takes a village. Who is in yours? Who has been instrumental in your success here at PG?

My village is my recruiting team. We accomplish much more as a team than we could as individuals. Mark and Darian have promoted entrepreneurship into how my team works and operates and set a standard in hiring people with a heart for serving others. The combination of heart and drive that each person brings every day has been instrumental in my ability to be successful in a leadership role. It’s enabled me to lead by example rather than being a “boss.”

What does community mean to you?

Everyone needs community. Our Father didn’t create us to work as individuals. We were created to be relational and serve others. Community and relationships with one another are so important in life and to our business. Provisions Group has grown to the height of where we are today because of community. We must continue to grow our community and nurture it. Our culture and business depend on it.

Who are you outside of work? What makes you "you"?

Outside work, I am Britt’s husband and Logan and Ensley’s Dad. People who know me know how much I love and support my family. I’m goofy and don’t care who is watching when trying to make my family laugh and enjoy the day. Life is short, so I try to capture every ounce of life through each stage of life we go through together. I’m on the go constantly doing things with my family, whether that’s on the sidelines cheering for Logan playing soccer or holding my breath for two and half minutes watching Ensley cheer at her competitions.

Rapid fire: What's your favorite travel destination? Favorite movie? Favorite childhood memory?

My favorite travel destination is the Beach. My favorite movie is Lion King. My favorite childhood memory was the night I accepted Jesus Christ as my savior. It was a very special moment that I shared with my mom.

What does the future look like for you in your new role?

While I don’t know what the future holds, I look forward to honoring what Mike has built over the years while incorporating the things that have aided my teams at a previous employer to scale and grow here at PG.

Give our readers a piece of advice.

Listen to the business needs and respond. Step up and take the initiative.

Congratulations on your promotion, Scott. We know you will do wonderful things in this new role, and we look forward to watching you continue to grow as a leader!
