PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Provisions Group is seeking a Director of Network Services to plan, direct, and coordinate the design, installation, and connectivity of computer, telecommunication, and network systems to ensure the stable operation of the organization’s IT systems. This includes developing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all new and existing network hardware, software, and communication links. The Director of Network Services will also schedule and direct the activities of a team of network administrators to resolve end user hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Strategy & Planning

  • Design and implement short- and long-term strategic plans to make certain network capacity meets existing and future requirements
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network resource administration and appropriate use
  • Develop and deploy methodologies for testing network performance and providing network performance statistics and reports
  • Establish best practices and policies for installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting network hardware, software, and peripheral devices
  • Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation
  • Establish service level agreements in conjunction with Chief Information Officer

Acquisition & Deployment

  • Plan, acquire, and coordinate installation of network hardware and software across the organization
  • Conduct research and make recommendations on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts
  • Negotiate with vendors and contractors to secure network products and services
  • Assess, approve, and administer all equipment, hardware, and software upgrades

Operational Management

  • Manage and ensure optimal operation of all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, Wi-Fi devices, UPSs, and so on
  • Co-manage and ensure the effectiveness of security solutions, including firewalls and intrusion detection systems with IT Security
  • Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organization’s executives, decision-makers, stakeholders, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent network activities
  • Direct and administrate a contingent of network administrators and where necessary, conduct performance reviews and corrective action
  • Applies advanced methods, theories and research techniques and assists in the development, implementation, and documentation of processes and procedures to ensure compliance with standard business practices
  • Develops and implements training tools and documentation
  • Coordinate and collaborate with Systems, Support, Information Security and BI/Data Analytic teams to ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of corporate systems to meet business demands
  • Provide guidance and training to junior members of the team

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Five or more years of experience in network administration
  • Two or more years of managing a team of networking professionals
  • Experience working with networking hardware both via command line interface and graphical user interfaces
  • Extensive knowledge of networking protocols, including Cisco and Juniper devices.
  • Experience with the following systems a plus: CUCM, Avaya IP Office, Microsoft ActiveDirectory, VMware, AeroHive, industry standard Network Monitoring Systems (NMS)
  • CompTIA A+ or other certifications, a plus
  • Health Care industry experience, a plus
  • Communication skills to communicate system proposals to management and customers and provide systems diagnoses and resolution for current systems
  • Interpersonal skills to interact with customers, senior level personnel, and team members
  • Organization skills to balance and prioritize work
  • Leadership skills to assist less experienced personnel
  • Ability to integrate moderately complex hardware and software systems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Extraordinary customer service skills
