Job Description

The Tier 2 Desktop Analyst will provide technical support to end users of local area network and workstations in multiple locations. Respond to, troubleshoot, and correct issues related to local area network and workstations. Trains and assist the Tier 1 Desktop Analysts. Assist the Network Administrator in any capacity needed.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Configure, install, update, and maintain local area network software and hardware.
  2. Provide Helpdesk Tier I and Tier II level support of Windows Active Directory, Outlook, Microsoft Office 2007, VoIP, and TCP/IP, and remote access/VPN.
  3. Watch monitoring systems and escalate any warnings and alerts to the proper team members for resolutions
  4. Verify and maintain iHelp tickets submitted within the firms ticketing system
  5. Respond in a timely manner to the needs and questions of network users concerning operation and issues related to software and hardware.
  6. Perform tape/CD backup activities associated with data backup and retrieval.
  7. Provide user training on software applications and remote network accessibility.
  8. Organize and maintain information concerning network and workstations.
  9. Support software programs including but not limited to: Microsoft Office 2007, Windows 2007 Server, Windows XP Professional, Back-up Exec, Trend Micro and AutoCad 2007.
  10. Support hardware including but not limited to: Dell Servers, Laptops & Desktops, Tandberg Video Conferencing, HP Ocè plotters and Unified Messaging.
  11. Help define and design enhancements for the company’s applications.
  12. Analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing systems and review computer system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations. May analyze or recommend commercially available software.
  13. Performs any other duties or responsibilities as assigned.

 

An ideal candidate will possess the following requirements:

  • Associates degree or equivalent experience
  • 3 – 5 years of IT Helpdesk or Desktop Support experience
  • MCSE Certification or training preferred but not required
  • A+ / NET + Certification
  • Understanding of network concepts and practices
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and web browser applications
  • Knowledge of installation of Windows Operating Systems and software.
  • Knowledge of supporting computers, loading device drivers and configuring a stable system.
  • Knowledge of researching and troubleshooting computer errors, blue screens, etc.
  • Customer service skills
